Dive Trips In The Florida Keys
The Florida Keys provide an underwater paradise for scuba divers. Visibility can be up to 120 feet, there are hundreds of ship wrecks to explore, and
beautiful coral reefs. When you match that with some of the most beautiful beaches
on Earth, you can see why divers all over the world come to the Florida Keys.
The reef, the largest living reef in North America as well as the Western Hemisphere, provides a diving location populated by more than 600 varieties of tropical fish, flora, and colors.
The water, a unique hue of azure blue, provides a backdrop wherein the sun beautifully illuminates the coral formations, the sea animals, the underwater vegetation, and the natural sea bottom, providing one of the most spectacular underwater views anywhere in the world.
The Keys, a natural barrier to the entrance of the Gulf of Mexico, plays host to numerous historical wreck
sites, ranging from Spanish galleons of early ocean exploration, to civil war wrecks
as well as more recent sinkings. These Key wrecks provide additional points of ecological underwater
habitat as artificial reefs. In recent years many decommissioned ships have been intentionally sunk in the
Key areas so that additional reef habitats may form.
Dive trips in the Florida Keys can be arranged on an individual basis or through group 2 wars hosted by local dive shops and organizations.
